Japan-Korea Rural Planning International Conference 2025
May 26, 2025
Committee of International Affairs, ARP
Concept
The Japan-Korea Rural Planning International Conference 2025 will be held in Miyazaki City and Misato Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, under the theme of “Inheritance of rural traditional culture and sustainable community development.” Both countries are facing the problems of declining and aging populations, and many local regeneration activities have been implemented in response to these challenges. In recent years, the importance of “traditional wisdom/knowledge,” a system of knowledge and wisdom that has been inherited from one generation to the next in each localities, has been receiving much attention. In this international conference, we would like to discuss how to develop sustainable rural development in accordance with local conditions by reexamining traditional culture, and then to discuss about the future of rural development in both countries under this theme. On November 6 (Thu), we will hold presentation session and poster session in English, and on November 7 (Fri)we will visit Misato Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
